Formed in 2015, the SPOF is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization formed by citizens of the Statesboro community to support Statesboro police officers and the department.

In April 2025, Sergeant Eric Simms and Officer Anita Cannady responded to a motor vehicle accident and discovered a driver who wasn't breathing and had no pulse. Off-duty Bulloch EMS Paramedic Karinshak stopped to help, while Officer Cannady retrieved an AED from her patrol car.

Together, the three performed CPR and delivered AED shocks along the busy roadway. Their actions saved the driver's life.

Their quick response and teamwork later earned them recognition from Chief Mike Broadhead and the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro's annual Life Saving Award.

It's a powerful reminder of the training, preparation, and people behind every call. 💙

Did you know just how much training happens behind the badge?

In 2025, Statesboro Police officers averaged 194 hours of training per officer, far exceeding Georgia's annual requirement of 20 hours.

That training covered everything from de-escalation and investigations to health and wellness, medical response, and use-of-force training.

It's a side of police work most of us don't see, but those hours help officers stay prepared for whatever the next call may bring. 💙

For more than a decade, the Statesboro Police Officers Foundation has been proud to stand behind those who serve our community. Since 2015, SPOF has helped provide equipment, training, officer and family support, scholarships, appreciation events, and more,all made possible by people in our community who believe in supporting our local officers.Thank you to every member, donor, volunteer, and supporter who has helped make that mission possible!
