This past week, Officer Kovach and Public Safety Officer Randall Gallant hosted the inaugural Cooking with Cops event for East Georgia residential students!

Cooking with Cops has long been a favorite tradition on our Armstrong campus, giving students an informal setting to enjoy a good meal and connect directly with officers. We’re thrilled to expand this initiative to our Swainsboro Campus and look forward to cooking up even more community connections in the future!👨‍🍳👩‍🍳🦅

This past week, Georgia Southern welcomed regional members of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, with police chiefs from nine counties coming together for professional development, networking and information sharing.

A special thank you to Georgia Southern Athletics for hosting these law enforcement leaders and extending such gracious hospitality! We’re proud to support opportunities that strengthen collaboration and connection among law enforcement professionals. 💙🦅

🎒 Ready. Set. Succeed! 🎒

This past week, we had a great time joining the CCAMPIS Back-to-School Resource Fair alongside our campus partners, connecting with student parents and their families as they prepare for a new academic year! 🦅

The Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Program supports Pell-eligible student parents by helping reduce childcare costs and connecting families with resources that promote academic success.

Our officers shared safety resources, connected with families and, of course, enjoyed some popsicles with the kids! 🍧💙

Recently, our department and the Chatham County Sheriff's Office joined forces for a collaborative training day focused on fi****ms proficiency, Narcan, Stop the Bleed, CPR/First Aid, and Taser 10 training.

Congratulations to our participants who excelled in the fi****ms drills:
• Officer Crenshaw – Winner of the timed shooting and moving event
• Recruit Mayard – Winner of the poker card drill
• Lieutenant Heatherly – Winner of the distance shooting drill, hitting every target without a single miss as the drill increased in 5-yard increments from 10 yards all the way to 50 yards.

A special thank you to Sgt. Ingerman for leading the Narcan, Stop the Bleed, and CPR/First Aid training and CCSO Lieutenant Bragg for providing Taser 10 training.

We appreciate the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with CCSO while continuing to build the skills needed to serve and protect our communities.
