🎒 Ready. Set. Succeed! 🎒

This past week, we had a great time joining the CCAMPIS Back-to-School Resource Fair alongside our campus partners, connecting with student parents and their families as they prepare for a new academic year! 🦅

The Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Program supports Pell-eligible student parents by helping reduce childcare costs and connecting families with resources that promote academic success.

Our officers shared safety resources, connected with families and, of course, enjoyed some popsicles with the kids! 🍧💙

Recently, our department and the Chatham County Sheriff's Office joined forces for a collaborative training day focused on fi****ms proficiency, Narcan, Stop the Bleed, CPR/First Aid, and Taser 10 training.

Congratulations to our participants who excelled in the fi****ms drills:
• Officer Crenshaw – Winner of the timed shooting and moving event
• Recruit Mayard – Winner of the poker card drill
• Lieutenant Heatherly – Winner of the distance shooting drill, hitting every target without a single miss as the drill increased in 5-yard increments from 10 yards all the way to 50 yards.

A special thank you to Sgt. Ingerman for leading the Narcan, Stop the Bleed, and CPR/First Aid training and CCSO Lieutenant Bragg for providing Taser 10 training.

We appreciate the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with CCSO while continuing to build the skills needed to serve and protect our communities.

A big thank you to the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro for their continued generosity and support of Georgia Southern Police!

This past week, the Kiwanians presented our department with their annual $1,500 donation. For years, this generous support has helped provide resources for crime prevention, fire and life safety programs, and other public safety initiatives that benefit our campus community.

This year's contribution will also help support future enhancements to our EOD K-9 program as we continue exploring opportunities to expand resources for our K-9 partners, Avatar and Nero, including the development of an updated outdoor dog run and training space.

We are grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro for their continued partnership and commitment to helping us strengthen public safety at Georgia Southern!

Preparing together to serve our community.

This past week, Georgia Southern Police was proud to host a FEMA-funded Critical Incident Management course on the Armstrong Campus, bringing together law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency management agencies from across Chatham County.
Through realistic, scenario-based training, participants strengthened communication, coordination and leadership to ensure they're prepared to work together during complex emergencies.

Strong partnerships today help build a safer tomorrow.

Georgia Southern Police was proud to host the Georgia Department of Public Safety - Office of Public Safety Support (OPSS) 40-Hour Peer Support Counselor Certification Course.

The course brought together 30 participants from 17 agencies across Georgia, strengthening the network of peer support available to those who serve our communities.

Congratulations to our newly certified Peer Support Counselors: Communications Officer Jessica Harris, Communications Officer Sydney Edge, Sgt. Demian Ingerman, and Lt. Jacob Heatherly. Through this training, they are better equipped to provide emotional and psychological support to fellow first responders when it matters most.

🦅 As part of the program, Sgt. Ingerman presented OPSS Instructor Michael Fedrick with an honorary Georgia Southern Police officer commission, signed by Chief Drawdy, and a custom GSPD patch in recognition of his dedication to supporting first responders across Georgia.
