Freedom Through Recovery: The Susan Ford Recovery Community Organization Empowering people to find their pathway to recovery🔥 What is an RCO?

A recovery community organization (RCO) is an independent, non-profit organization led and governed by a Board of Directors, made up from representatives of the community. These organizations carry out recovery-focused community education and outreach programs, organize recovery-focused policy/advocacy activities, and provide peer-based recovery support services. The sole mission of an RCO is to m

obilize resources within and outside of the recovery community to increase the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery from Substance Use Disorder.

Did you know? Most prescription opioids misused by high school seniors don’t come from a doctor — they come from a friend or family member.

Safe storage and proper disposal save lives. Let’s keep our homes — and our teens — protected.

Together, Southeast Georgia can prevent opioid misuse and support those on the path to recovery. Learn more about support resources here! https://bullochadc.org/sega-opiod-prevention/

✨Correctional Officers Appreciation Week✨

FTR and Dr. Derlic, GSU criminology department, came together to create goodie bags for our officers at BCCI.

Bulloch County Correctional Institute makes helping our peers easy. FTR takes an all-recovery meeting inside and helps coordinate reentry. We are grateful for Warden Toole and his team. They truly have a heart for wanting to see men thrive in recovery.

True collaboration lives in gratitude. In one short year, we’ve built something beautiful together, something much bigger than us🎉

Thank you Tiffany and Denice for educating us on The Addiction Recovery Center🎉

This is a 12-step, long-term treatment center for women located in Alamo, Georgia. This is a 12-24 month program that is GARR and THOR approved. Their program is tailored to address both chemical and behavioral addictions✨

FTR is grateful to have them as an option for our peers that need this pathway.

If it sounds like a pathway you would like to try, let us know!

We are always grateful for United Way of Southeast Georgia’s commitment to uplifting our community members. We love it even more when we get to serve in their fundraisers💸

There’s something powerful about women and men coming together with purpose, and this week, we felt it in the most incredible way. 💙

Our Women United event was a huge success, and it simply would not have been possible without our tribe. The women and men in this photo, and so many others behind the scenes, are the heart of this movement. You show up, you lead, you give, and you lift others along the way.

Because of you, we are building something meaningful: strong women, strong children, and strong communities.

We are so grateful for each of you who believe in this mission and pour your time, energy, and passion into making it come to life. This is what community looks like, and we’re just getting started.

We’re so proud of Logan, our very first intern🦅 She came to us a year and a half ago to learn more about addiction recovery and has changed the game for us!

Today, we watched her defend her thesis…
The Open Secret: drugs and fishing in Georgia 🦐

She illuminated addiction and recovery by interviewing captains of sh*****ng boats on the coast. She also interviewed fishermen in recovery! As you can imagine, recovery can be hard to access when your job is to fish in the ocean for long periods of time.

We’re also grateful for our sister organization, New Roots Glynn, for spending some time with her while she was on the coast🌊
