Can you imagine living without heat and AC for an entire year?

When clients are on the path to financial stability, an issue with their HVAC unit or roof can potentially set them back financially and emotionally.

These unexpected hardships can quickly become overwhelming, especially for those in our community with financial struggles, but Community Action is here to help 💙

This Community Action Awareness Month, we are proud to share a powerful client success story that reflects the real impact of I-CARE’s work in our community. Through programs like Head Start, weatherization, urgent repair, workforce development, and compassionate guidance, lives are being transformed every day.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, whose funding through the Urgent Repair Program made this critical roof repair possible.

Thank you to Shelton Moore, CCAP, Director of Economic Mobility and Housing, for sharing this inspiring story and for helping families move toward greater stability and opportunity.

Catawba County Schools will be providing summer meals for children under 18. Please see the shared information to register!

☀️ Summer Feeding 2026 is almost here!

Catawba County Schools is proud to provide nutritious summer meals for all children 18 and under. 🍎🥪

This year’s program includes:
✔️ Expanded pickup times (3:30–5:30 PM on Mondays & Thursdays)
✔️ More convenient distribution locations
✔️ A simplified one-time registration process for the entire summer

📍 New and expanded locations include Bunker Hill High, Fred T. Foard High, the Catawba County Firefighters Museum, Bandys High, Tuttle Elementary and NorthStar Academy.

Iredell-Statesville Schools will be providing free summer meals for children ages 1–18 at locations across Iredell County this summer! ☀️🍎 Please share with families who may benefit.

School may be out for the summer on Friday, but nutritious meals are still on the menu! Iredell-Statesville Schools is offering FREE Summer Meals for children ages 1-18, with convenient pickup locations across our county.

Pickup Dates & Times:
June 1st through July 27th
Mondays and Thursdays only
12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
