Thinking about becoming a foster parent can bring up a lot of questions and sometimes even doubts. But many people who thought they wouldn’t qualify are now making a huge difference in children’s lives.🧡 Here are a few of the questions we hear most often:
Do I have to be married to foster?
You don’t. Single individuals, couples, and families of many different structures can become foster parents.
Do I need to own my home?
Homeownership isn’t required. Renters can foster as long as the home meets safety standards.
Do I need parenting experience?
No previous experience is necessary. Training, guidance, and support are provided so you feel prepared and confident.
Is there an age limit?
Foster parents must be at least 21, but there is no upper age limit. Many older adults and retirees bring tremendous patience, wisdom, and stability to the children they care for.
