The Legacy at North Augusta—A National Lutheran Community Welcome to The Legacy of North Augusta-A National Lutheran Community! We believe moving into an assisted living community offers the chance to rejuvenate.

As an assisted living and memory care community, The Legacy at North Augusta is known for being a warm and inviting place to live, the kind of place where neighbors look in on you. As an assisted living community serving Staunton, Virginia, we offer a vibrant community filled with southern charm in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. The kind of place that feels like the small towns of yesteryear - a

friendly smile, a glass of iced tea on the front porch, a place where your neighbors are your friends and everyone cares for one another. You or your loved one may need supportive care, but you can still discover an exciting lifestyle, balanced with care from an assisted living team that focuses on living.

Last week celebrated the amazing dads in our community with a day full of fun, laughter and a little friendly competition. Residents and families enjoyed remote control car races that brought out everyone’s playful side, along with classic concession-style favorites that made the day feel like a trip down memory lane.

Thank you to all the fathers and father figures who inspire, support and bring joy to our community every day. We’re so grateful to celebrate you — not just today, but all year long. 💙

🐦 A Fascinating Look at Virginia’s Native Birds 🐦

Residents at The Legacy enjoyed a truly unique presentation last week from Dr. Robyn Puffenbarger, Professor of Biology at Bridgewater College.

Dr. Puffenbarger brought along a curated selection from the college’s bird skin collection, offering a rare, up-close look at these remarkable specimens. She guided residents through the world of Virginia’s native bird species, sharing insights on migration patterns, diets and plenty of fun, surprising facts along the way.

It was an educational and engaging experience that sparked curiosity and appreciation for the natural world right outside our windows.

Thank you to Dr. Puffenbarger for an unforgettable visit!

Residents and team members came together for a meaningful Memorial Day service to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

The program included a moving reading of “The Soldier’s Letter” and concluded with a heartfelt rendition of “America the Beautiful,” reminding us all of the sacrifices made for our freedoms. We are grateful for the opportunity to pause, reflect and remember.

Residents from The Legacy recently enjoyed a fun-filled outing to Barterbrook Trout Farm in Stuarts Draft, where they spent the day casting lines, sharing stories and soaking in the beautiful mountain scenery.

From the excitement of the catch to the laughter shared along the water, the trip was filled with great memories and even better company. Experiences like these are just one of the many ways we stay active, connected and enjoying life together.
