The Summer Reading Game starts today! 🦖📚❤️ Log at least 60 minutes of reading in Beanstack by Saturday, June 6 to be eligible to win the Week 1 prize pack for your age range.

- Ages 0-6: Unearth a Story pail and shovel, tickets for the Gypsy Express Mini-Train, a copy of the book “Fiona in the Sandbox”, and more
- Ages 7-12: Unearth a Story drawstring bag, pool pass, and more
- Teens: Unearth a Story drawstring bag and canteen, pool pass, and more
- Adults: $20 Sunspots Studios gift card, painting by local artist Glen Marshall, and more

Join the all-ages SPL Summer Reading Game and log your minutes starting Monday, June 1.

How to play:
- Log in to your existing Beanstack account or a create a new account by downloading the free Beanstack app or going to staunton.beanstack.com. You can easily create an account for yourself and your family using one login.
- Select the “Unearth a Story” challenge under the Discover or Challenge tab to join. It will automatically default to the game for the player’s age range: ages 0-6, ages 7-12, teen, or adult.
-Log the time you spend reading! You can log minutes only or track your time by title. Read 60 minutes each week to earn a badge and be entered to win a weekly prize pack. If you earn 20 badges by July 31, you will also be eligible to win a grand prize!

There are five new bestsellers, nine new movies, sixteen new audiobooks, 54 new children's books, and 46 other new books, including eighteen that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "The Deal," "The Divorce," and "The Midnight Train." The new movies this week include "Avatar: Fire and Ash," "Fallout Season 2," and "Goat."

We’re excited to tell you about the special children’s programs we have coming up at the start of June! In addition to our regular morning storytimes and the Summer Reading Game Kick-Off on June 1, there are fun activities planned throughout the summer months – here’s a sneak peek. Full details about upcoming programs for all ages can be found in our summer brochure and on our website at www.StauntonLibrary.org.

🎨 Dinosaur Art Contest
Starting June 1, pick up an entry form at the Circulation Desk and submit your art by June 27 for a chance to win a prize! Art on display July 6-11. For ages 5-10.

☀️ Family Read-In
Escape the heat and enjoy quiet reading, cool temps and refreshments. Every other Tuesday in June and July, starting Tuesday, June 2, from 2 - 3 p.m. For ages 6-10 and their families/caregivers.

📚 Unearth a Story Book Club ft. “Deadlands: Hunted”
Tweens will receive a free copy of “Deadlands: Hunted” by Skye Melki-Wegner when they join the summer book club. Fridays, June 5, 12 & 26 from 2 - 3 p.m. on the Ground Floor. For ages 9-13.

🐶 Books & Barks
Enjoy a short storytime and visit with local therapy dogs on Wednesday, June 10 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. For ages 2-12 and their families/caregivers.

🦖 Dino Dig & Let’s Make a Fossil events on June 11
Join the Virginia Museum of Natural History for some fun dino-themed activities! Space is limited and registration is required by June 10 or until full.
