The Stayton Community Food Bank is a non-profit organization in Stayton, Oregon, that provides emergency food assistance to low-income individuals and families in East Marion County and surrounding areas like Aumsville and Sublimity. SCFB was created to unite and centralize area efforts to feed the hungry in Stayton, Sublimity, Aumsville, and surrounding communities. We are supported by the local community, churches, service organizations, stores, Marion-Polk Food Share and local special events for donations of food and funds. We partner with the USDA, Oregon Food Bank and Marion-Polk Food Share to assist with our communities' food needs. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Dropped some showtimes, since nobody is coming to the theatre. Hopefully things will change sooner than later. I know everyone has their own ideas on which movies they would play and don't realize all the rules we deal with and which movies we can squeeze in as a single screen theatre. There's a lot more to running a theatre than people know.

Hopefully we will make it though another year. Hollywood has changed since Covid. Streaming, etc. People got comfortable staying at home and waiting for movies to be on TV. Most people prefer a series over movies I feel.

But, it's nice to get out of the house and escape the surroundings of the home and going out to a movie theatre and smell the popcorn, where you run into family and friends you haven't seen in a while. Engage with other humans.

I've been doing this since 2002 and I remember when we had over 300 seats and would sell out on weekends. Now we're down to 159 seats with more legroom and very comfortable seats, and we barely fill a row most days.

Anyway, Hope everyone has a great day and less screen time.

The City of Stayton is partnering with the Stayton Community Food Bank to collect non-perishable food items for local families in need.

A donation bin is located at Stayton City Hall (362 N. 3rd Ave, Stayton).

Residents are invited to drop off donations Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays).

Truly amazing to have the support from the City of Stayton and the entire community of people, businesses and local retailers. You all are making a difference in the lives of many who come through the Stayton Community Food Bank doors needing food. Our pantry shelves remain full, despite the 35% increase in households we are serving since mid October. Our volunteers have been working relentlessly keeping up with the pace. We continue to monitor and adjust as necessary to assure everyone who comes in for food, receives food. Thank you one and ALL!
