The Village of Steeleville is applying for the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) Grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation and as part of the application process we are looking for Letters of Support from businesses and residents of the Village.

The project that we are looking to have funded is a Shared Use Path, which will be a 10 foot wide concrete path for walking and bicycle use. The path will run along the south side of W. Broadway from Victorian Dr to S. Chester St.

If you wish to sign a letter of support you can use the one attached or you can stop in Village Hall. Please have them returned to Village Hall by September 25th .

Annual Pavement Maintenance Program

We will be performing pavement maintenance on Monday August 24th and Tuesday August 25th. (See the attached maps for specific locations).

This maintenance will consist of some streets receiving an oil and chip seal on Monday and a protective fog seal being added on Tuesday. Other streets will only receive the protective fog seal coat on Tuesday. Once the fog seal is applied the streets will be closed to all traffic until they dry. Dry times can vary depending on weather conditions but could take 15 minutes or up to 1 hour.

Barricades and Traffic Cones will mark closed streets, and traffic cones will also be placed in driveways to signal wet fog seal. Exact times of fog seal application for individual streets are not known so please see the provided maps to see how this may affect your daily routine. These streets will also be No Parking areas on Monday and Tuesday from 7am to 5pm. Please ensure all vehicles are removed during these times.
