It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our brother, Tom Etzle, this morning after his courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Tom made a tremendous impact on countless lives. He was the kind of person who could light up any room with his sarcastic comments, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. No matter the situation, Tom always found a way to make people laugh and bring a smile to their faces.

Tom’s love for the fire service was unmatched. He proudly served as Chief of the Paxtang Fire Company and as a firefighter with the Steelton and Londonderry Fire Companies. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

More than a chief or firefighter, Tom was a mentor, a friend, and a brother. He helped guide so many of us, both in the fire service and in life. The lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the memories he gave us will never be forgotten.

Today, we mourn the loss of a great man, but we also celebrate a life dedicated to service, friendship, and helping others. Tom’s legacy will live on through the countless firefighters he mentored, the communities he served, and the lives he touched.

Here is what everyone is hearing.

✈️ Beginning Thursday morning, residents near Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) may experience increased aircraft noise as performers arrive and conduct practice flights ahead of this weekend’s PA Air Show.

Practice flights and arrivals will take place May 21–22, leading up to the PA Air Show on May 23–25.

Yesterday members went to the Steelton boat launch for drafting training. With guys starting pump classes and drivers training . We went over how to pull a draft and work the pumps5️⃣0️⃣🚒

Engine company is currently assisting Swatara Fire-Rescue with a gas leak in the area of sycamore st the roadway is blocked off on Paxton st and sycamore st please avoid the area
