Just after 1500hrs, the box 59-5 was dispatched for a vehicle into a structure. Chief 50-3 with two other members were in the area at the time of dispatch and responded to the call. Multiple callers reported a single vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed exited the highway and “flew into the building”. The vehicle finally came to a stop inside the dining area of the restaurant. Thankfully no one was inside the dining area at the time of the incident. The extent of the drivers injuries are unknown.

Working fire

Steelton fire remains busy. A crew was on engine 50 getting ready to advise the dispatch center of a phone call to the station for a service call, before they could the dispatch center alerted Steelton and mutual aid companies to a reported structure fire in the first due. As County finished dispatching the call the engine was enroute. Arriving to find a single family home with heavy smoke showing on all floors, crews found fire on the first floor rear and extinguished the same.

We would also like to remind residents that when using space heaters keep them a minimum of 3’ away in all directions from any combustible material and also make sure that the outlet is rated for the use.

Congratulations Gene Vance you're doing an awesome job, I heard the news!
Hello! Thank you for all the great work that you do! Someone just scanned and sent me their copy of an old Steelton cookbook, "Home Cooking Secrets of Steelton." Cover attached. Do you guys know anything about this book? Like when it was published? Do any print copies still exist? How did it come about, what was the history of it? Thanks!
Just wanted to give you a big thank you for our tree again this year at Faulkner Nissan Harrisburg. Gail Faulkner was here for our annual luncheon today and was very impressed with it. She asked that I pass along a big thank you from her.
Gentlemen, Back in the day, I was the Asst Foreman for West Side Hose Company. A few weeks ago, I was having a discussion with some friends about some of th experiences that we had responding on Engine 52. We talked about some memorable calls like Bogars Lumber, the old Fish Plant, and all of the calls related to Hurricane Agnes. We were trying to remember the call numbers for our equipment. I know that Citizens was Engine 50, Baldwin was Engine 54, West Side was Engine 52, but I couldn't remember the call numbers for Hygenic and East End. Would you kindly talked to some of my older brothers and send me a list of those numbers. I would greatly appreciate that. Regards Jim Rohacek
