The Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School (NAVSCIATTS) recently honored 12 graduating officers from the international training command’s Strategic Leaders International Course (SLIC).

The NAVSCIATTS staff honors the extraordinary life and sacrifice of former Partner Nation Instructor Abdoul Aziz Moumouni. A dedicated warrior and a beacon of hope, Abdoul embodied the spirit of resilience and commitment to his country.

Affectionately known as “Big Mike,” he excelled as a member of our team, graduating from multiple courses of instruction, completing the Navy’s Master Training Specialist program, participating in our Strategic Leaders International Course, and serving as a vital member of our instructor cadre.

“Big Mike” is a true example of the importance of establishing global relationships. He made lifelong friendships during his two years at Stennis and will be greatly missed.

We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow comrades, as we honor his dedication to the defense of his nation and the promotion of peace and stability in the region.
