Did you know? 🚀

NASA Stennis is America’s largest multi-user propulsion test site, supporting America's space program and a wide variety of commercial space efforts and missions.

This comes with a dynamic schedule of ongoing propulsion tests.

Depending on weather conditions like wind or cloud cover, you may occasionally hear or feel a rumble in surrounding communities.

This is why a test may be heard one day, while a similar one on another day may not be heard at all.

NASA regularly measures and evaluates noise levels to ensure they remain within safe exposure limits.

We value the community support along the Gulf Coast region, as we carry out work in a safe and responsible manner.

Welcome to NASA! 🚀

Our summer interns are here and ready to get to work.

They were welcomed to America’s largest rocket propulsion test site on day one by NASA Stennis Acting Director Christine Powell and Deputy Director Rodney McKellip.

At NASA, we explore the extraordinary every day. Our internships give students hands on experience, real projects, and the skills they need for future careers.

What does an “opportunity of a lifetime” look like?

Meet Aya Strickland, a mechanical test operations intern at NASA Stennis.

At NASA’s Propulsion Center of Excellence, Aya is getting hands on experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting propellant transfers for the engines we test for NASA Artemis missions to the Moon.

Her ultimate goal? To become the youngest certified test conductor.

“This experience has shown me exactly what to expect in the aerospace engineering workforce,” she said.

We were honored to host Millsaps College President Frank Neville at NASA Stennis on May 11. Fresh off attending NASA’s Artemis II launch in April, President Neville shared his gratitude for the invitation and his excitement about NASA’s work.

The visit was a great opportunity to highlight how the work at NASA Stennis continues to support America’s space program and to explore new ways we can work together to inspire the next generation of innovators across Mississippi and the Gulf Coast region.
