The Newtown Heritage Festival Kids Zone will be collecting non-perishable food donations to support three local food pantries in Stephens City, Virginia: Trinity Lutheran Church, Love In Action, and Stephens City United Methodist Church.
Together, these three food pantries help provide food for approximately 125–150 families in our community, with Love In Action serving even more families through its mobile food truck.
Our hope is that this food drive will give the children visiting the Kids Zone an opportunity to see firsthand how they can help other children and families in their own community. We want them to learn that being a good citizen and helping others can be both meaningful and fun!
So, while the kids are enjoying all the fun activities in the Kids Zone, we encourage families to bring a non-perishable food item to donate. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference for a family in need.
