On June 6, 1944, native Texan and military hero James Earl Rudder commanded the Second Ranger Battalion in the Normandy invasion during World War II.
“Rudder’s Rangers” stormed the beach at Pointe du Hoc on D-Day and battled intense enemy fire to successfully establish a beachhead for Allied reinforcements.
