ECCLPS believes the legacy of Dolly Parton can—and should—live on in the lives of children and families!

To help continue the gift of books for children under age 5 in Logan County, ECCLPS is challenging our community to help sponsor 80 children in honor of Dolly's 80 years of a life well lived deeply rooted in giving to others!

For just $31, you can give a child 12 months of joy, discovery, and learning. Your gift provides one age-appropriate book every month for an entire year, helping children from birth through age five develop language and vocabulary skills through the power of repetition, conversation, and reading together.

Early Childhood Champion Spotlight: Terry Curtis

47 years. Generations of children and families. And a commitment to quality that is still going strong. Some careers are measured in years. Terry’s is measured in generations. 💙

Terry Curtis has spent nearly five decades leading Little Folks Preschool and Daycare in Merino. Most recently, Terry and her team achieved a Level 5 Colorado Shines rating, the highest possible designation.

We wore our pink, brought out our life-size Dolly cutout, and celebrated with Cuppa Cuppa Cuppa and ice cream—for breakfast! 💕🍰🍦 Because if you’re going to honor Dolly, you might as well do it with plenty of pink, a little sparkle, and absolutely no judgment about when dessert should be served. 😂

But beneath the fun was so much sadness and gratitude. As an Early Childhood Council, we owe Dolly more than we could ever put into words. Through her Imagination Library, she helped us place books directly into the hands and homes of children across our communities…opening doors to imagination, connection, learning, and dreams.

Putting books into the hands of children means the world to us, and Dolly showed us just how powerful one book, aand one person who truly believes in children can be.

And we were so caught up in moment we dug into the cuppa cuppa cuppa and didn’t even take pictures! So please show us yours—did you wear pink for Dolly today?
