We had the opportunity to see Kurt and Brian Properties' newest living spaces at Haymarket Apartments. These newly renovated apartments are beautiful and breathing new life into a space that hasn't been utilized in quite some time. It's wonderful to see the additional apartments in downtown Sterling! Let's FIESTA! We can't wait to see you on at the 73rd Annual Fiesta Parade!

Come out on September 19 at 1:00 p.m. for the Fiesta Parade, starting in Rock Falls and ending in Sterling. The parade will begin at the intersection of 1st Ave and 5th St in Rock Falls (near Jimmy Johns).

The countdown to the 73rd annual Fiesta Parade is ON!

NEW this year! In addition to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Best Fiesta Spirit Award will be presented to the entry that goes above and beyond to display what Hispanic Heritage means to them!

Come out on Saturday, September 19 at 1:00 p.m. for the Fiesta Parade, starting in Rock Falls and ending in Sterling. The parade will begin at the intersection of 1st Ave and 5th St in Rock Falls (near Jimmy Johns).

Tours kick off at 9:00 a.m. and participants may pick and choose the tours they would like to attend. Dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. at Whiteside Area Career Center.

The Foundry is a beautiful event space located at 201 W. 1st St in Rock Falls - you may remember this space as Kapp's Banquet Hall back in the day. The Foundry owner, Rylee, has decorated and transformed the space to hold 150 guests for weddings, baby showers, holiday parties, and more. We would like to congratulate this month's Customer Service Award recipients: Rock River Valley Self Help Enterprises, Inc!

Their nominator said:
"I would like to nominate Self Help Enterprises staff for their exceptional performance and dedication during a critical incident on August 7, when a fire broke out in the recycling area. Assistant Director Maggie Hofsommer and Director of Facilities Sam Bushman demonstrated calm leadership and quick decision-making, ensuring everyone was safely evacuated and accounted for while safety protocols were followed. Devon Wallace also showed remarkable initiative by responding to the first signs of smoke, retrieving a fire extinguisher, and attempting to contain the fire until the fire department arrived. The collective response of Maggie, Sam, Devon, and the entire Self Help team exemplifies professionalism, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of those they serve."

Well done, Self Help team, and thank you for all you do for our community!
