W. Monroe St. will be closed from S. Broadway Ave. to W 7th Street beginning Monday, Aug 24th for approximately 3 weeks, weather permitting. This is in relation to the New Water Line installation heading along N. Broadway to the KMW Expansion site.

Please avoid this area and use other streets for access.

The KDOT Road Improvement Project to fix the Parking Stall Lines will begin on Monday, 8/24/2026. A mill and overlay, facilitated by APAC, will start at S. Broadway Ave. and Van Buren St. heading north to Jefferson St.
The parking stalls along Broadway will be closed for repairs beginning on the East side of the road. Please park on the opposite side of the street from where construction is being carried out. Traffic on Broadway Ave. will be controlled by a pilot car.
This project is anticipated to last a week and a half to two weeks, weather permitting. Door Hangers have been delivered or posted to those in the Downtown.

The water will be shut off tomorrow, Tues. 8/11/2026 from 8:30-11:30am to businesses on the East side of N. Broadway Ave. (Dollar General and Subway) and along E. Forest Street to include Camelot Ct and the first Northeast house on N 6th Street. (Those along the west side of N. Broadway Ave., locations North of Subway and the rest of N 6th Street should not be affected.)
This work is to tie in the new water line being installed along N. Broadway Ave. Kansas Concrete will place door knockers this afternoon on the businesses and houses affected.
The hope is to have the water turned back on as soon as possible!! If your water is shut off during this time but not designated or if you have any questions, please call City Hall, 620-278-3423.
