🔧✨ Behind the Scenes: Summer Prep at SHS ✨🔧

While summer break is underway, the SHS custodial team is hard at work preparing Sterling High School for another great school year! From deep-cleaning classrooms to completing routine maintenance projects, their efforts support student success by ensuring students return to a safe, clean, and operational learning environment in August.

SHS Head Custodian Justin Allen, entering his 19th year with Sterling Public Schools and 3rd year as Head Custodian at SHS, shared, "Our goal is to provide students with a safe and clean environment so they can focus on learning and enjoying their time at SHS. We take great pride in keeping our facilities updated and pristine." Justin credits former SHS Head Custodians Joe Olalde and Gary Dettman for instilling the Sterling tradition of excellence and Golden Warrior pride that he and his team continue today.

Thank you to our custodial team for all you do to keep SHS safe, welcoming, and ready for learning! 💙💛

Sterling is once again proud to showcase its outstanding facilities as host of the Class 1A Softball Super-Sectional today.

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. as West Central and Dakota battle for a spot in the state finals.

SCHOOL RECORD. AGAIN. 🔥
Sterling’s 4x400 relay team lowered its own school record for the second consecutive day, running 3:17.68 to finish third at the IHSA State Finals. The time ranks in the top five in Class 2A state history, but that’s how loaded this race was: it still placed third. Awesome job guys.

🏃‍♂️💨 Boys Track & Field at the IHSA Class 2A State Finals!

Maurice Delacruz, Quincy Maas, Aidan Lacy and Derek Prieto shattered their own school record in the 4x400-meter relay during today's prelims, blazing to a 3:17.93 finish. 🔥

The same quartet set the previous school record of 3:21.05 at last year's state meet, making today's accomplishment even more remarkable.

Their record-breaking performance sends them into Saturday's finals as the No. 1 seed in the state. 🥇

🏅 Golden Warrior Friday Sports Update 🏅

🎽 Boys Track & Field
The Golden Warriors begin preliminary competition today at the IHSA Class 2A State Finals. Field events are already underway, with track events starting at 10 a.m.
Athletes who advance today will return tomorrow to compete for state championships and medals. Good luck, Warriors!

🎾 Boys Tennis
At the IHSA State Finals on Thursday, Aron Rivera (singles) and the doubles team of Micah Peterson and Jacob Prevo wrapped up outstanding seasons while competing against some of the state's top talent.

Rivera finished the tournament with a 1-2 record, while Peterson and Prevo went 0-2. Congratulations on a tremendous season and on representing Sterling High School at the state level!
