Looking for a fun afternoon in downtown Sterling?

Sterling Creatives is hosting an Art Scavenger Hunt this August, and it's a great way to explore Sterling's Creative District through the eyes of the artists who make it what it is.

Sterling Creatives is a downtown artist co-op showcasing painting, pottery, woodworking, jewelry, stained glass, leatherwork, photography, and more, all handmade by members from northeastern Colorado. It's one of the best stops in town for original art and unique gifts.

Not ready to call it on summer yet? Neither are we. Sterling has plenty left in the tank for one last getaway before the season turns.

🏕️ North Sterling State Park — camping, shore fishing, and dark prairie skies for stargazing. The Elks Boat Ramp on the north side is closed but the south ramp will remain open for the rest of the season. Check the park's page for the latest ramp status before you head out.

🏊 Sterling Recreation Center Outdoor Pool — cool off with the water slide, splash features, and pool time in town.

🚴 Gravel Biking — 1,600+ miles of unpaved roads through wide-open Logan County. The Gravel Adventure Field Guide is your key to routes and stories from the saddle.

The Great Colorado Time Capsule will visit the Logan County Farmers Market in Sterling on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 9-10 am, and our community is invited to help tell the story of Colorado in 2026.

Bring a letter to the future, a photograph, artwork, a local story, or a small item that represents our community today. Selected submissions will be preserved inside the capsule before it is permanently installed in Loveland and opened in 2076.

The Gravel Adventure Field Guide is hosting a ride during the Logan County Fair on Saturday, August 1.

🚴 Route: Beatnik Dirt // 40 mile or 20 mile options

📍 Meet: Heritage Park, 4th & Main Street, Sterling

⏰ Meet up at 9:00 AM, rolling at 9:30 AM

This is one of the best weekends of the summer to ride Logan County. Get the miles in Saturday morning, clean up, and head over to the fair for the carnival and the night show with Scotty McCreery.

⛳ Riverview Golf Course (Sterling) // Wide fairways and a beautiful South Platte River setting. Walkable layout, scenic views, and excellent practice facilities. A casual, scenic round.
