Sterling Park Food Pantry

Sterling Park Food Pantry A food pantry of Sterling Park Baptist Church that serves residents of Loudoun and Fairfax counties.
Sterling Park Food Pantry is open for distribution on the third Saturday morning of every month. The pantry is located at 501 North York Road, Sterling, Virginia). Additionally, we offer emergency delivery upon request and distribute clothing and household goods as they become available to us. Pantry staff includes volunteers from Sterling Park Baptist Church along with members of the community. We are affiliated with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, receiving most of our food from that agency or through direct donations. Since we opened our doors in January 2010, God has enabled us to serve hundreds of families.

Friends, we can really use diapers of any size for our pantry distribution! They are in very high demand among the people we help. To give, drop them off at our pantry. Our next distribution is September 21.

The church is an initial point of contact for the kingdom of God,
as God’s people are interspersed amidst humanity. We do not
plead with others from long distance; we plead with them up close
and personally...We are sent to serve and build relationships with others to share the truths of the gospel with them. This is the nature of God’s kingdom.

“Only the church can minister to the whole person. Only the gospel understands that sin has ruined us both individually and socially. Only Christians, armed with the Word and Spirit, planning and working to spread the kingdom and righteousness of Christ, can transform a broken heart as well as a neighborhood.”

~Tim Keller

How Do You Counsel Non-Christians? | Christian Counseling & Education Foundation

"We want people to see that the gospel directly engages the parts of their lives that matter most to them." What happens when someone learns to acknowledge shame, guilt, wounds, wickedness, weakness, or loneliness? That person becomes more open to hear about and more ready to embrace a Shepherd who laid down his life so his sheep could have glorious, forgiven, painless, shameless, eternal life with him as part of his family."

"God has dealt so graciously to us because He has been so kind and unbelievably merciful to us, and we want to make it known to others. So we treat others with grace and mercy...aggressively because we want to win them to Christ. We want to show them the kind of love that God has shown to us."

Pastor Mike McKinley on mercy ministries.

Some congregations think that showing kindness to those in need is a good thing in its own right, and Christians should not feel compelled to evangelize in order to legitimize their deeds of mercy. In fact, some would go so far as to say that using mercy as a doorway to evangelism is disingenuous.
