📢 Attention Virginia Notaries — this is not a drill.

Starting July 1, 2026, keeping a notary journal is no longer optional. It’s the law.

Per SB 316 / HB 163, passed unanimously by the 2026 Virginia General Assembly, ALL notaries must now maintain a journal of every notarial act — including the ID used to verify each signer’s identity. Journals must be kept for at least 5 years. https://lnkd.in/e8dEzSeZ
