🍂✨ Time Falls Back, Sterling ✨🍂
This Sunday at 2:00 AM, the clock takes a gentle step backward.
An hour returns to us—quiet, golden, and full of possibility.

Sterling PD invites you to savor it:
🌙 Sleep a little longer
☕ Sip something warm
📚 Read one more chapter
🍁 Watch the leaves tumble in slow motion

As the evenings grow darker and the air turns crisp, remember:
🔋 Check your smoke & CO detector batteries
💡 Adjust your outdoor lighting timers
🚗 Drive with care—twilight comes sooner, and so do the deer 🦌

We’ll be out there, keeping Sterling safe and steady. You just enjoy the rhythm of the season and the gift of borrowed time.

To the Bolton Community:
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our Chief of Police, Luke Hamburger, who died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5.
For the past two decades, Chief Hamburger served our community with dedication, professionalism, and integrity. As a leader, he combined warmth with strength, and his commitment to community policing and public safety made our town a better place. He was a lovely person whose presence brought out the best in those around him. His loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him, and his imprint on our town will remain for years to come.
Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues in the Police Department during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that the community join us in keeping them in their thoughts.
We will share information about services and ways to honor Chief Hamburger's memory as details become available.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Sterling Police Department's Newest (and Featheriest) Traffic Detail Member
You asked, we answered. Following numerous complaints about speeders, we've deployed our most... persuasive officer yet. Meet Officer Gobbles, a wild turkey with an unflappable attitude toward moving vehicles and a flair for aggressive jaywalking.
Since joining the force, Officer Gobbles has been expertly using his tail-fanning and "strutting with purpose" techniques to bring traffic on Muddy Pond Rd to a near standstill. Drivers are encouraged to reduce their speed and, should they be approached for a "vehicle inspection," to just stay calm. We’ve found that loud noises and aggressive motions only encourage him.
While his training is still ongoing (he has yet to master the use of the radar gun), Officer Gobbles has already proven to be remarkably effective. Who knew a single bird could hold up so many commuters?
Please remember to drive slowly and keep a safe distance. We're still working on getting him a reflective vest that fits.

In all seriousness, we are well aware of the Muddy Pond Rd situation, and will continue to monitor it. If the animal becomes a nuisance, we recommend contacting the Massachusetts Environmental Police for a response, or suggestions on deterring the fine feathered friend.
