The U.S. Park Police have always been a great partner of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad. Our thoughts are with the injured motor sergeant, his family and his Park Police family.

A US Park Police motor sergeant has been seriously injured after being struck by a driver on the Little River Turnpike at the Loudoun County Parkway this afternoon 🚨

Loundoun County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the fire department, were called out for the crash at around 1:45pm this afternoon. The officer was reportedly struck by the driver of a car, causing him to crash.

The driver remained on scene, while the officer has been taken to the hospital with serious but hopefully non life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s department.

⚠️ All of Route 50/Little River Turnpike is closed in the area as deputies remain on scene. ⚠️

SVRS 9/11 Memorial Walk for honoring and remembering the responders lost 25 years ago today.

Our members participated in the Loudoun County 9/11 Stair Climb Event today at Segra Field to honor those responders that lost their lives 25 years ago today.

Tomorrow 9/11 - First Responders from Sterling will join together at the Potomack Lakes Sportsplex to walk in honor of those lost 25 years ago. Many first responders from Loudoun County were either employed in positions that responded to the Pentagon or were volunteer first responders who responded to the call and staffed ambulances, fire engines, trucks and heavy rescue units at the onset of the events and in the days that followed. We will be walking 1/2 mile to a mile between the hours of 4:00pm and 5:15pm to allow our personnel time to participate at the end of their shift and before the evening shift begins. If you are in the Sterling area, please consider joining us.
