We are so excited to welcome you into our Open House on Saturday July 4th from 1PM-3PM. We’ve partnered up with Sterling College Alumni and Sterling College Admissions in case you are an alum in town for Sterling Old Fashioned Fourth of July and are curious what’s happening at Sterling College. They’ve provided information for you to browse while you enjoy patriotic tunes on our grand piano (did you know we have one?!). Alumni - be sure to update your information for a chance to win a fun giveaway! While you’re on campus check out the home of the Sterling College C.S. Lewis Center and browse our new books sponsored by the South Central Kansas Library System (SCKLS) in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary.

We are excited to announce that our summer coloring contest launches today! Alert your children, grandchildren, dig out the crayons and beat the heat with a cooling activity!

Winners from last year's contest already have their beautiful lions displayed in the center, and we are looking forward to adding ships to the display at the end of the summer. Copies of the coloring sheet may be found at Mabee Library - Sterling College and the . Best entries will be judged by Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, Professor Engler, and awards will be given out at our first reading group of the semester, August 24, at 7pm.

You might also want to begin reading The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader" (or re-reading) as this coloring contest ties in with our text for the fall reading groups where we will, month by month work through a chapter, each time, of The Voyage of the "Dawn Treader."

Join us this evening!

Tonight we have a special pre-conference event, and we are looking forward to hosting Dan Hamilton, who has flown across the Midwest to join us in Kansas and to share with us some of his many stories of different copies of works by Lewis, and their inscriptions, marginalia and the stories of those who owned them before. This event is going to be held in the Sterling College C.S. Lewis Center located in Mabee Library. It is open to all, and there will be tea, water and our very own Dr. Brake is bringing some of his famous baked goods.
