Thank you to everyone who attended the Family Night Kick-off to the 2026 Wendy Marks Summer Reading Program! Please join us next week on Tuesday, June 9, at 5pm for our next Family Night: Painting Pots! All materials will be provided by the library, but please stop by the children's desk or call the library to register ahead of time!

Unfortunately, our elevator is not working. We are trying to get it fixed as soon as possible! But, until then, we have to use the stairs 😞If this is a problem for you, please ask the staff - we are happy to help!

Did you miss Louie the Llama from our first Family Night? Don't worry! This Friday, June 5, around 11:30am we will have llamas as after-storytime guests. The llamas will be outside on either the south or north lawn after both llama-themed storytimes are over (Toddler Time starts at 10am and Preschool Storytime starts at 11am). We hope to see you there!

Join us to celebrate love and inclusion at the Sterling Public Library's annual Pride Month storytime next Saturday, June 6, at 10am. This storytime is aimed at preschoolers and presented by PFLAG Sauk Valley.

Did you miss the friendship bracelet craft night? Not to worry. We have a craft night every month. In June we are going to do something a little more complicated and even a little more dangerous. We are bringing in Valerie Butcher to help us make a glass trinket. We are requiring registration for this, $30 per person, and since we are working with glass you must be at least 12 years old to participate. 12-15 years old will require a guardian to be present. We will create our craft that day and then Valerie will take hem home to fire them in her kiln. When everything is completed she will return them to the library and we will contact you so you can pick it up.

This craft will take place Monday, June 15th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
