From the bottom of our hearts, we at the Sterling Rural Fire Department would like to express our gratitude to our community for stepping up to help us fund our new gear! From local businesses to private donors, you all came together to help us and got us where we needed to be! Something that seems as simple as having proper, fitted gear to wear is so huge for us! It is a massive boost in safety and morale.
Also a big thanks to Dinges Fire Company for helping us get set up with the right gear for the job!
If you’re wondering about the numbers on our helmets, we made the decision that each member would get to choose a unique number that means something personal to them. If you see one of us out and about, feel free to ask!

INCIDENT ALERT: At 1256 Sterling Rural Fire Department was dispatched to respond to a grass fire north of Sterling. Two units responded and found a bale on fire. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with minimal damage to property.

Please be careful operating equipment and keep it clean, especially when it’s this hot out!

Happy 250th birthday to the USA!

We rang the day in around 1am this morning with a fireworks related incident that started a trailer on fire…

I know the British came back in 1812, but our partners at the Sterling Central Intelligence Agency have heard no evidence of them being back since, so keep those fireworks pointed at the sky!
