If you get your special someone setup with a Life Alert, one thing to think about is please call the local sheriff's dept/dispatch center and please let them know of a phone number to reach you at and an alternate way to gain entry into residence. We will break door in if needed to gain entry if no response, but we would rather not do that. If you could hide a spare key outside somewhere and let us or dispatch center know, that would be greatly appreciated. Just trust us, your special someone is special to us too. ❤️ dispatch/sheriff office number for Johnson county is 402-335-3307

The Burrows- DeBoer VFW Post 10042 presented the Fireman and EMT of the Year 2026 awards to members of Sterling Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Adams Volunteer Fire and Rescue at the Adams Community Building Monday evening. Awards presented by Commander Brad Owen and Vice Commander Jim Hestermann.

Sterling Fireman of the year went to Billy Kaster while the Sterling EMT of the year went to Lee Warnsholz.
Adams Fireman of the year went to Tyler Buhr and receiving Adams EMT of the year was Laureen Ehmen.

Congratulations to the four recipients!!
