All gave some. Some gave all. The SVFC, with a rich history of volunteer members who have served this country, pauses today to remember and honor those who paid the ultimate price to defend our country and our freedoms. We thank them. May their lives and sacrifices on behalf of us all always be cherished and remembered.

Today the SVFC remembers and honors Chief Bob Watts, who left us in 2023. His legacy lives on through the men and women who worked with him and those who have only heard the stories.

Monday Shift Calls

After dinner and training the SVFC Monday Volunteers, along with units from Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue, and Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, were dispatched for a reported structure fire in a local apartment complex. Engine 618B and Truck 611 arrived first, finding burned food on the stove, but no fire. The rest of the assignment was returned to service while E618B and Battalion Chief 601 repacked hose and T611 removed smoke from the apartment. T611 ended their overnight shift with an auto accident on Route 28.

SVFC & SVRS Support LIV Golf Tournament

The SVFC and SVRS were part of a multi-agency team--including LCFR and FCFRD--providing standby support to the LIV Golf Tournament this past weekend, ensuring that EMS and fire suppression support was quickly available for the players, guests, patrons, and others if needed. During the event, SVFC was also a key part of the US presidential detail support team for the landing and takeoff of Marine One, with Engine 618 additionally present along with other fire and rescue apparatus. Brush 611 provided suppression capabilities in support of LIV infrastructure, and responded to EMS calls during the event. Fire and rescue personnel made use of UTVs to travel throughout the event..
