It has been 100 years since women fought for and got the right to vote. Human beings make progress by making a violent fuss. We are making a violent fuss now in America! A big fuss and it is long overdue.

Support the right for ALL women to vote by asking every female of voting age: Are you registered to vote? When I work the polls a few moms actually bring their daughters to the polling location. We give each child an "I voted" sticker. Share and encourage this and we may just build on the gaining rights for all of us!

Open and take the quiz. It will be a great discussion starter!

Thanks for liking our page! Mayor Hickman Headquarters is open each day for several hours. If you need signs or want to come in to chat, please feel free. We have TV now, coffee and lots of great conversation. 10 to 2 is the goal. If any of you would like to help by taking a shift, let us know. It is important for all of the Mayor's supporters actually get out to vote. Early voting begins NEXT MONDAY! 8 to noon, Friday 8 to 4:30 and Saturdays 8 to noon. Spread the word and come on out to vote!

Many of us worked hard last night at a calling station to get folks to meet Courtney on Wednesday. It takes a village and about 50 calls to sometimes get one or two who will attend, but it is worth it!

Attended the meeting by Hydrologist Jack Whitman as per the MINDOH aquifer.

It seems a corporation is planning to drill into OUR ONLY WATER SOURCE and pipe that water to communities who already have access to Lake Erie's water (due to the large Algae Bulb it would be cheaper to buy our water than clean that from the Lake). Artesian of Pioneer is the company which will profit by its sale of our only water supply. Toledo will be at least one recipient of this water.

What can we do? Call our governor: The governors of the three states need to meet and discuss a study of this aquifer and determine reasonable use of the water. There currently are no rules for use of water in IN or Ohio. There have been no collective studies on the effects of draining the aquifer of millions of gallons of water to sell. These steps need to be taken.

A month ago, I attended a CCC meeting at the library with a Trine Civil Engineer who explained that sitting under our homes in Steuben County was the best water in the entire nation. He said it should last us 125 years if we are careful!

A month later and it may be up for sale?

He said that even though Texas and California were running out of water, these companies were still operating with huge bottled water sales from the draught stricken areas.

Perhaps we need to have him speak again now that we may have so much to lose!
