Jefferson County General Health District

Jefferson County General Health District Purpose is to help the individual/group achieve a more satisfying life and improve the functioning and quality of life for the residents of Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Health Department is here to provide services and programs in order to achieve the State purpose. Those services and programs will be based on a number of principles and assumptions including, but not limited to:

*The Department shall carry out programs mandated by the State Legislature and Ohio Department of Health.
*All citizens of the Jefferson County General Health Distri

ct should be free of any environmental conditions that lower the quality of life. To this end the Board shall adopt and enforce environmental rules and regulations.
*All citizens of the Jefferson County General Health District should be free of communicable diseases. To this end the Board shall create a public health nursing division.
*Citizens of the Jefferson County General Health District should not be barred from receiving medical and dental care due to race, creed, color or socioeconomic levels. To this end the Board may provide services if economically feasible. united states

The Jefferson County General Health District would like to thank the students and instructors from the Trinity School of Nursing for their participation in our measles vaccination clinic yesterday in Bergholz. With their support to our nursing staff, we were able to vaccinate nearly 140 adults and children in just two hours. We appreciate Trinity Health System's commitment to protecting the health of our community!

Our Nursing Department will be closed for the remainder of the day for an offsite vaccine clinic.
