In 1963, Rachel Carson penned a response, published in Audubon magazine, to critics of her landmark “Silent Spring,” which warned of the dangers that insecticides pose to birds and nature.

Today, on International Women’s Day, her words ring just as true as they did over half a century ago. Birds and the places they depend on need us to stand up for them courageously and loudly every day. What are some ways that you take that stand?
