Spent part of today in Wausau learning about nature-based strategies for addressing climate change impacts. Getting ahead of the consequences of bigger storms and hotter weather is less expensive than dealing with the damage after the fact. Using trees and plants to do the heavy lifting has added social benefits! Thank you Wisconsin's Green Fire: Voices for Conservation for organizing the event. It was good to see a cross section of Portage County staff and elected board members in attendance as well.
