Great news! Construction for the third phase of the park project is BEGINNING ahead of schedule. Ellis Construction is erecting site fencing around the construction area THIS AFTERNOON and work will begin as early as NEXT WEEK on the SERAMUR Pavilion. The playground and basketball court will be open throughout construction, but dust and noise may occasionally be an issue. We are so grateful to all our donors and project partners for making this park a reality. THANK YOU to the Community Parks Improvement Committee - CPIC and the many people and businesses who support their efforts. The CPIC provided Seramur Park (formerly Emerson) and the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department with a three-year pledge totaling $15,000. Last night, the Stevens Point Board of Park Commissioners approved the design of a pavilion at Seramur Park. The Friends of Emerson Park and Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin have signed a design build contract with Ellis Construction. Bidding is expected early this year with construction slated for spring and completion planned by September 1st!
Huge thanks to the team at Ellis for their vision, ingenuity, and support of this project. Thanks also to the Stevens Point Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department for their steadfast commitment and insight. The Parks team have developed and with city staff secured funding for a roof mounted solar panel array on the pavilion. The first for the city's park system.

Stevens Point Current is a new column by Service Journalism Reporter Erik Pfantz that will cover city and county governments and school districts.

Thank you Jordan Hornung, Ashley Paulus and everyone at Rotary Club of Stevens Point for your generous support of park improvements at Seramur Park. We are honored to receive funding from this stellar group of local leaders whose hard work and dedication has made a lasting impact in our community and far beyond.

Yesterday our club presented a check to Friends of Emerson Park. They have rallied, planned, fundraised and installed some awesome updates to this great centrally located park. It's been really great to see that park take shape!

Thank you Krista, Adam, the Kelley Family, and everyone who has been a part of the Jayna Kelley Memorial Foundation. We are so touched by your support and honored to shine a light on Jayna. Her bright legacy continues to touch so many. The Foundation's generous gift of $5,000 will purchase several bike racks in the center of the park and additional bench seating. This gift truly touched our hearts in a profound way.

Seramur Park (formerly Emerson Park) is a park located in downtown Stevens Point, the home of Brian’s sister, Krista Slusarski and her husband, Adam. Jayna’s aunt and uncle have been impressed with this park that started as a plain field in the middle of town and is now a nice playground and a very impressive basketball court. The Friends of Emerson Park Fund has raised money over the years to complete much, but the $5,000 donation from our Foundation will allow them to buy and install 6 bike racks for the park along with buying and installing a couple of benches near the basketball courts for observers. This park, with the help of our contribution and many others, will allow children to spend quality time outside in the downtown area of a beautiful city. For a short time, the Kelley family lived in Stevens Point…Jayna was only about 4 years old and she and her sister explored the parks often with Mom and Dad.
