Visit the third floor to see our display of children's books for Juneteenth, celebrating emancipation and black history. We are open on summer weekdays from 7:45am-5:00pm.

Our third floor is home to the IMC collection, with books for elementary and middle school students. Not a student or staff member? Community members can check out items by using a community patron card, available at the circulation desk.

Long before the new library and student resource center took shape, James H. Albertson envisioned a library as more than a place for books—it was an environment for learning.

As UWSP's president from 1962–1967, Albertson helped shape a period of growth and played a key role in planning what would become the Albertson Center for Learning Resources. Today, his vision lives on through the James H. Albertson Commons.

The Commons honors Albertson, whose commitment to libraries and learning continues to inspire our campus community

UWSP students and staff can access over 1700 videos from the PBS video archives, from 1979 to current releases. Documentary series, special features, interviews, and recordings are available to you, including Ken Burns' newest documentary series, The American Revolution, released in fall of 2025 to coincide with America's 250th anniversary this summer.

This summer, bring the UW Libraries with you!
Students and staff can access library audiobooks and ebooks through the Overdrive database, or through the Libby library app. You can access titles purchased by any campus in the UW System, meaning you have thousands of books available.

To add your campus login information to the Libby library app, follow the steps below.
1. Open the Libby app.
2. Click the center icon in the toolbar, where you can see your account information and settings.
3. Click "add library"
4. Search for "University of Wisconsin System"
5. When prompted, use your UWSP credentials to sign in.

You can switch between the public library and UW library system by clicking your different library cards in that account information area. Happy reading!
