Imagine trying to explain Trump's ascendancy to future generations.
"Well, he must have possessed soaring oratory and a deep intellect, right?"
Nope. He talked gibberish.
"Then he must have drastically improved the lives of his voters?"
No, quite the opposite.
"He must have at least been a pious Christian, like President Carter?"
No, he protected a global pe*****le network while credibly accused of being one. And was held legally liable for r**e. And joked about underage girls in stomach-churning ways. And . . .
"Movie star looks and expensive cologne?"
It's been claimed that he frequently pooped himself in public.
"Well, he must have been loved globally, but it didn't translate to the U.S.?"
He was universally despised.
"Supportive of allies?"
He only aligned with despots and human rights violators while spurning democratic alliances.
"Sacrificed his net worth in service to the country?"
Made billions of dollars by exploiting the presidency.
"Humility?"
No.
"He made people feel comfortable with their base impulses, bigotry, and hate?"
Now we're getting somewhere. 😞
