The D.M.T.A team is currently at Ephrata Community Ambulance Association participating in their open house event. We'll be here until 1 pm. Smokey the Bear will soon be making an appearance until noon. We hope you can stop out and say hello! There are several other emergency services organizations in attendance, lots for the kids to do!

Last evening the D.M.T.A team attended the National Night Out event at Snyder Park. This event is held annually on the first Tuesday in August. Many community agencies were on hand with public displays and treats for those in attendance. The weather was beautiful and the event was well attended. Our crews interacted with many families spreading the fire safety message and handing out fire safety materials. Smokey even showed up and got in on the fun! Thank you to all who stopped by to say hello! We'll see you again next year.

Tonight the D.M.T.A volunteers were joined by Marcy Hehnly from Project Overwatch. This organization provides donations to emergency services and military branches. They graciously donated bottled water and Gatorade for our Firefighters for use in this warm weather. Thank you for your generosity and support of our crews!

The last several weeks the D.M.T.A team have been drilling on hoseline advancement and search patterns. Last evening we took advantage of the beautiful weather to have a little fun outdoors. Crews stretched the line and made the hit on the fire (traffic cones in this case.) Even our Chief (Nolt) couldn't resist joining in. Thank you to all members for your commitment and dedication to our community and to each other!

Any plans for this Saturday morning? If not, bring the kids out to Starlight Camping Resort for a morning with Smokey! The D.MT.A crew will once again be escorting Smokey and spreading the word about forest fire prevention. Our crew will be there with Smokey from 10 until 11:30 and we hope to see you there!

This morning the D.M.T.A team escorted Smokey the Bear to the Denver Community Park to participate in the Adamstown Area Library Opening Day Drive Thru Park event! Smokey reportedly enjoyed seeing all the children and handing out fire safety materials.

This evening representatives from the D.M.T.A Fire Co were invited by the Baron Stiegal Lions Club to attend a banquet at the Udder Choice restaurant. The Fire Co, along with several other community organizations were presented with a generous donation from the Lions Club. We are extremely honored to have been chosen to receive these funds and are thankful for their generosity.

Tuesday evening the D.M.T.A crews gathered together for weekly training. This week we got back to Search drills. Topics covered included area searches, crew cohesion and victim removal (dirty drags) with the emphasis on protecting the victims lungs and airway.
