12/18/2025 – WINTER STORM IMPACTS CONITNUE – WE NEED THE PUBLIC’S HELP!
Another weather system pummeled Skamania County today, projected to continue through Friday 12/19, and flood watches remain in effect through Saturday. Projections for high winds and high precipitation continue. The Skamania County Board of Commissioners issued an emergency declaration and opened its Skamania County EOC (Emergency Operations Center) to support the community through this event.

Potential flooding and power outages due to high winds are a very real possibility. We need your help!
If you live or own property in Skamania and suffered storm damages 12/5 through today, and the next storm)– we need your input!
• Send the County your information if you suffered damages as a resident, business or agency.
• Document damages through photographs (preferably before, during and repairs) and thorough descriptors as to what occurred. This information can be sent to Emergency Manager Barb Ayers at [email protected] or call 509-427-3898.
• Be prepared to address if your building is inhabitable, if it has insurance and details on what caused the damage.
Storm preparedness tips:
• Be prepared for extended power outages or other essential systems necessary for life are damaged or disabled.
• Have a 3-day kit: This includes water (1 gallon/person/day), non-perishable food, a first-aid kit with meds, a radio/flashlight, hygiene items, and important documents, ideally stored in an easy-to-carry bag or bin for quick access.
If you live near a storm drain, please help us by clearing debris away from the drain to prevent street and yard flooding.
Sandbags are available for county residents located at the following locations:
1) Skamania County District 2 Shops: 575 SW Rock Creek Drive, Stevenson
2) Skamania County Fire District 4: 10042 Washougal River Road, Washougal

About Skamania County EOC:
Skamania County EOC operates with staff and selfless volunteers – activities include seeking information about damages to residences, businesses and community infrastructure resulting from this series of storms to register for potential cost recovery and state/federal aid programs.
