Skamania County Emergency Services adheres to these guidelines as they relate to use of this site:

Visitors and users recognize that there is no expectation of privacy in the use of or when commenting on the agency’s social media and users are cautioned never to disclose private or confidential information on this site. All social media posts, comments and lists of followers are subject to public disclosure under Chapter 42.56 RCW. Skamania EMS & Rescue reserves the right to hide, but not delete, posts that are or appear to be inflammatory, retaliatory, harassing, aggressive, slanderous, libelous, inclusive of confidential information that the person making the post does not have a right to share; and other posts that, in the sole opinion of the agency, may be divisive. More directly, Skamania EMS & Rescue prohibits and reserves the right hide, but not delete, posts and comments that are:
-Made by, related to or assistive to an independent political campaign or ballot measure (either pro or con); or that lobby for or against legislation, endorse or oppose political candidates or ballot propositions, other otherwise express or imply endorsements of opinions or political positions.
-Off-topic or tangential to the original post.
-Promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.
-Potentially libelous, obscene or explicit; hateful or mean spirited personal attacks, insults, or threatening language.
-Material that is plagiarized or violates intellectual property rights; and private or personal information published without consent.
- Content that violates any law.
-Made by users or subscribers for the purpose of solicitation, sales or profit.
-Similarly, while our agency understands that medical or traumatic emergencies often lead to financial hardships for those involved, we are unable to allow posts that link or share information related to fundraising for individuals or groups of individuals (e.g. Go Fund Me, Meal Trains, PayPal and Venmo links). Communications made on this site, by users, subscribers and the general public do not constitute official notice to the agency or any agency personnel. Our agency does not regularly monitor this page, and we will not respond to questions asked on this page. Information requests may not be made on this site and must be submitted directly to the agency’s Public Records Officer, consistent with the agency’s Public Records Policy.”
