Arvin Hart Firefighters Respond Mutual Aid to Structure Fire in the City of Mechanicville -

On Wednesday, April 1st, at approximately 6:40 PM, Arvin Hart firefighters were dispatched to the City of Mechanicville as part of a 2nd Alarm Box Assignment for a residential structure fire on Tallmadge Place in the City.

Truck 10-1 and Car 10 responded to the scene.

Mechanicville firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire. The crew of 10-1 assisted with ventilating the structure before being returned to service approximately a half hour later.

Arvin Hart Firefighters respond to reported Barn Fire –

On Monday, January 19, 2026, Arvin Hart Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of 24 Durham Road in the Town of Stillwater. The initial caller reported there appeared to be a fire in a barn at that location.

Mechanicville Fire Car 39 arrived on scene and reported what appeared to be an old barn, approximately 25’x50’ in size, which was well involved with fire. Upon further investigation, it was determined to be the remnants of a barn which had previously burned down nearly 40 years ago.

Arvin Hart Truck 10-1 (newly placed in service) and ETA 10-2 were the first units arriving. Truck 10-1 proceeded into the scene and its crew began working to contain the fire. ETA 10-2 secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant and laid large diameter hose into the scene to supply Truck 10-1.

Additional Arvin Hart units along with Mechanicville Fire Department Tower 39-1 and Round Lake, NY Fire Department Engine Rescue 54-4 and Rescue 54-5 responded as a part of the initial box alarm assignment. Additionally, Saratoga County Office of Emergency Management Fire Car 6 responded to the scene.

Initially, access to the barn was limited. Once better access was secured, Truck 10-1 was repositioned so that its master stream could be utilized to extinguish remaining areas of fire and mutual aid units began to be released from the scene.

In total, crews operated for nearly three hours before clearing the scene.

Arvin Hart Car 10, 10-0 and 10-9 as well as Truck 10-1, ETA 10-2, ETA 10-5, ETA 11-1, Rescue 10-3, M 11-4 and U 11-2 responded to the scene.

Mutual Aid Water Rescue Response -

Over the weekend, Arvin Hart Firefighters responded mutual aid to the City of Mechanicville with water rescue assets for what was reported to be an overturned ATV in the Hudson River.

Upon further investigation, it was determined to be a utility cart and all units were returned to service.

Rescue 10-3, M 11-3 with MR 10-8 (Air Boat), Car 10 and Car 10-0 responded.

The Stillwater Fire District/Arvin Hart Fire Company will be hosting guest speaker Jeremy Donch, founder of National Fire Radio. The seminar, “Bridging the Gap,” focuses on preserving tradition and culture within the fire service from generation to generation.
