Huge shoutout to DEARINGERS for the incredible wrap on this vehicle. We had one generous private donor get us started, and DEARINGERS stepped up in a big way covering the remaining costs and donating the labor to make it happen.

We truly appreciate the support. Special Olympics Oklahoma and these athletes will be proudly represented in Stillwater thanks to you!

Officers and Deputies from Stillwater Police Department, OSU Police Department and Campus Safety, and the Payne County Sheriff's Office came together this Memorial Day to complete the Murph.

Weighted vests. Full effort.

Our oldest participant was 69. Our youngest were Officer Cassidy’s kids.

1-mile run. 100 pull-ups. 200 push-ups. 300 air squats. 1-mile run.

The Murph honors Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005.

But Memorial Day is about more than a workout.

It is a day to remember the servicemen and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation and the freedoms we enjoy. Their sacrifice, and the sacrifice of their families, will never be forgotten.

Be safe, Stillwater!

A long time ago, in a fire station not so far away... brave men and women suited up, answered the call, and saved the day. Every day.
Happy May the Fourth and National Firefighters Day to the Stillwater Fire Department. You may not have a lightsaber, but a 110-foot ladder truck is honestly cooler. We love you, we appreciate you, and we hope today is quiet, the food and workouts are good, and the only alarms are false ones.

Congrats to Officer Sappington and Lieutenant Wells with Stillwater Fire Department on this mammoth of a challenge! Keep up the great work and way to represent the City of Stillwater - Government.

Stillwater Fire Department is proud to recognize Lieutenant Mason Wells for completing one of the most demanding endurance events in the country.

Lieutenant Wells, alongside SPD Officer Justin Sappington, finished the Mammoth Sniper Challenge. This is a 72 hour event that pushes competitors to their physical and mental limits. Teams cover more than 35 miles over rugged terrain with no resupply, while completing timed shooting stages under pressure.

Nearly 40 percent of teams dropped due to injuries or ruck times.

Wells and his partner carried packs weighing 54 and 52 pounds, including their rifles, and saw it through to the finish.

That kind of discipline and resilience does not come from one event. It shows up in how our people train, prepare, and serve this community every day.

Lieutenant Wells represents this department well.

Take a moment to congratulate him in the comments.

SCAM ALERT – Fake Court Notice Circulating

We have received a few messages from residents about fraudulent notices claiming to be from the “State of Oklahoma” regarding unpaid traffic violations, tolls, or court enforcement actions. If you look closely at it, it states the location is in Clayton, Missouri.

These notices are NOT legitimate. They often use official-looking seals, threats of license suspension, court action, or collections, and direct you to scan a QR code or make immediate payment.

Protect yourself:
• Do NOT scan the QR code
• Do NOT send payment or personal information
• Do NOT click any links or call numbers listed on the notice

If you receive one of these notices:
• Verify directly with the court listed using an official phone number or website
