The traffic switch on County Highway 14 (34th Street North) in the City of Oakdale, MN - Local Government has been revised to occur on Friday, September 4 at approximately 7 a.m. The highway will reopen for eastbound traffic, and the westbound lanes will immediately close to all traffic for approximately one week. This closure is for a surface water diversion project related to PFAS contamination, which will affect County Highway 14. Beginning on Monday, August 31, County Highway 14 (34th St N) in the City of Oakdale, MN - Local Government will be closed to all westbound vehicular traffic between the intersection of Hadley Ave N and the southbound I-694 ramp. This closure is expected to last approximately 2 weeks. During this time, the pedestrian/bicycle trail will be routed onto a temporary route through the project area. This is for a surface water diversion project related to PFAS contamination, which will affect County Highway 14. Washington County is accepting applications for community-based projects seeking opioid settlement funding.

Eligible projects must serve Washington County community members and fall into one or more categories outlined in the application. Examples include Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment, harm reduction services, and evidence-based primary prevention programs.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners continued its review of the recommended 2027 departmental budgets in livestreamed and recorded workshops August 25.

The countywide budget recommendation is for a 7.9% levy increase to $160.7 million. A public meeting on the 2027 budget and levy will be held December 1.
