Stinnett Fire Department would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to the Bugbee Community for the incredible appreciation dinner and generous prizes provided for our 1st Responders. Your kindness, support, and thoughtfulness mean more than words can express.

A special thank you to all the businesses and individuals who donated and helped make this event possible. It’s communities like Bugbee that remind us why we are proud to serve such amazing people.

From the delicious meal to the thoughtful prizes, every detail was truly appreciated by our firefighters, law enforcement, and first responders. Your continued support does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful to stand beside a community that always shows up for those who serve.

🚨 Stinnett Fire Update – Mow Fire 🚨

Stinnett Fire is currently on scene of the Mow Fire, located east of the Herring Ranch headquarters.

🔥 Forward progression has been stopped.
📏 Estimated size is approximately 5 acres.

We have multiple agencies assisting on scene, including:

* Borger Fire
* National Park Service (NPS)
* Hutchinson County Road & Bridge
* Fritch Fire
* Hutchinson County Emergency Management

⚠️ Please stay clear of the area due to:

* Ongoing emergency traffic in and out
* Smoke that may reduce visibility and create hazards

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and will provide updates if needed.

What a wonderful day having lunch and meeting new community leaders from Borger, Fritch and Stinnett! Thanks so much to Chief Mark Mitchell with the Crutch Ranch VFD for sponsoring the luncheon today for The 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle! 🚨 Stinnett Fire Department – Incident Update | April 4, 2026 🚨

On April 4, 2026, Stinnett Fire and Fritch Fire responded in a dual response area to multiple fires along FM 1319 and FM 687.

These fires developed into two main incidents known as the North Twin Fire and the South Twin Fire.

🔥 North Twin Fire
• Burned approximately 518 acres
• Threatened the community of BugBee
• Evacuations and road closures were implemented
• No structures were lost

🔥 South Twin Fire
• Burned approximately 365 acres
• Road closures were put in place

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all assisting agencies:
Fritch Fire, Hutchinson County Road & Bridge, Big Creek Ranch Fire, Borger Fire, Crutch Ranch Fire, Texas A&M Forest Service (TFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Park Service (NPS), Skellytown Fire, White Deer Fire, Groom Fire, TIFMAS Strike Team, Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office, Stinnett Police Department, and Fritch Police Department.

It takes strong coordination and teamwork between multiple agencies to protect our communities, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.

Emergency personnel and equipment may still be active in these areas. Please avoid affected areas to allow crews to safely continue operations and prevent further incidents.
