Bringing Newborn Safety Devices to Georgia

Bringing Newborn Safety Devices to Georgia Working for safe, legal and ANONYMOUS surrender option for parents in crisis -newborn safety device Things to remember when talking to others about this.
#1.

It is a newborn safety device, not a "baby box". We do not want legislators to think this is a vendor bill.
#2. Do not get pulled into an argument about abortion. This is not a pro- life/ pro- choice issue. These babies are already born.
#3. This is a voluntary program, not a mandate. We are only asking for the state law to allow the use of these devices if a city/ county/ municipality wants to in

stall one.
#4. If a baby is surrendered in an infant safety device or face-to-face, the same protocol is followed. Surrender of a healthy, unharmed baby under 30 days old with no questions asked and no risk of prosecution has been a law in Georgia for over 20 years. That doesn't change. The difference is anonymity.

OK, still looking for a few more people in and around Cobb County/ Cumberland area that are interested in helping out. I think 3 or 4 people makes a good group so let us know if you want to join Morgan and Stacy.

On a separate but related topic, if you are in Milledgeville or Macon and interested in helping bring a baby box to your area, please comment below.

Friends helping friends makes the load much easier!!!

This is so important!!! Surrender does not equal abandonment!!! Pay attention to language!

We've been asked: what is the difference between abandonment and surrender? We are very careful about how we use these terms.

Alright everyone, we have a supporter in Cobb County that would love to work together with some of you to bring baby boxes to your area. She is specifically interested in the Cumberland area, 285/75. If you would like to connect and work together with her, this could be a great opportunity. Having a friend to go with when you talk to the chief, to bounce ideas off and to help strategize makes everything easier!

Today I had the privilege of Blessing Baby Box #469 / 24th in Alabama @ Russellville Station #6. Captain Jeremy Glenn and all the fire fighters were so kind and welcoming. I had a chance to meet their mayor, some city council members, pastors and supporters from the community. It was a great day and I hope that I did a good job representing all my friends at SHBB.

I know I have shared a lot of stories from Friday, but I really enjoyed this one. Aside from the fact that tbe author misstated that the fight took 18 months (don't we wish), everything else seemed spot on. It's a good read. Enjoy and share!

Praying over Georgia’s first Safe Haven Baby Box was more than a simple blessing for the Rev. Benny Tate — it was personal.

I can't say how much I appreciate these guys right here.

Committed to Community ❤️

Yesterday, Fire Chief Pat Wilson and Asst. Chief Frank Robinson attended service at Stockbridge Community Church to present Pastor Jeff Daws and church members with the only other commemorative sign recognizing Georgia’s first Safe Haven Baby Box.

We are incredibly grateful to Stockbridge Community Church for their generous donation that made this resource possible in Henry County. We also thank Henry County resident Amie Anderson for her determination and advocacy in helping bring this vision to life, and Safe Haven Baby Boxes for helping provide a safe surrender option for a mother in crisis.

This journey is a powerful example of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

I can't help but throw this out here tonight. We have had an absolutely amazing weekend. The Blessing of the first Safe Haven Baby Box in Georgia was an extraordinary event. The reason that we were able to do that was thanks to the generosity of others. Henry County wants to add 4 more (they thought they were cute sneaking one more in there on me!!!🤣🥰 We are going to need many people or groups of people to be generous so please share this link. Encourage others to support this cause with their words and their wallets. Thanks in advance for giving to Safe Haven Baby Boxes for HCFR Safe Haven Baby Box initiative.

It has been more than 24 hours since we blessed the first Safe Haven Baby Box in our state. I have not come down from Cloud 9 yet, but I did sleep in this morning. The event was far even better than I had ever hoped. The crowd turnout was phenomenal!! I attempted to see and speak to as many of you that I could, and if I missed you or if I didn't give you the attention you deserved for sacrificing your day for us, please know that it was completely unintentional. It was overwhelming to say the least. I was truly blown away by the out pouring of support from all over the state and the country!!! (Thank you to my special guest all the way from El Campo!!!!) We had guests from other department across the state and are preparing to meet with them to help them get started so... watch out Georgia....I think you are going to be seeing a lot more events like ours in the future. Thank you again for your support and if you have any pics from the day, please share them below.🩷💙🩷💙🩷💙🩷❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️
