🦉 A Memorable Moment at Laurel Hill Day

On Saturday, August 29, Tom Ricardi of Rescued Raptors, joined by Ben Nickley of the Berkshire Bird Observatory, captured the full attention of everyone gathered for the first portion of Laurel Hill Day with a fascinating presentation featuring Tom’s rescued birds of prey.

The highlight came when Tom released a Barred Owl that he had carefully rehabilitated over the course of 18 months. Fully recovered and ready to return to the wild, the owl took flight into the wooded glen of Laurel Hill—a beautiful and fitting habitat for the next chapter of its life.

It was a remarkable moment and one that those fortunate enough to witness it won’t soon forget.

🎺🎶 THE MUSICAL PROGRAM FOR LAUREL HILL DAY! 🎶🎺

Music will be an important part of this year’s Laurel Hill Day, with performances that connect Stockbridge’s past and present.

🎺 Allan Dean and Berkshire Brass will transport us back to the mid nineteenth century with period brass music, recreating the sounds that would have been familiar when the Laurel Hill Association was founded in 1853. Their program will include selections from the American Brass Band Journal—a fitting soundtrack for this historic Stockbridge tradition.
