If you happened to drive by the station on Friday or Saturday, you may have noticed a lot of activity. Friday was spent moving equipment from the old Engine 2 to the new Engine 2, making sure everything was ready to go.

On Saturday, members participated in training to learn the ins and outs of the new truck and its equipment.

If you’re out and about this week, feel free to stop by and check out the new Engine 2. We’d be happy to show it off and say hello!

🌪️ Berkshire County is under a Tornado Watch until 3:00 PM.

What’s the difference between a Watch and a Warning?

A Watch means be prepared and stay informed. A Warning means take protective action and seek shelter.

🌪️ 👁️ Watch = The weather is typing….

🌪️ ⚠️ Warning = Message sent.

For now, stay weather aware, keep your alerts on, and maybe save the kite flying for another day. 🚒

Heat Advisory Day 2

When the heat cranks up, even the flowers start calling for backup… and that’s when we send in our specialist: FF/EMT Paul Hernandez.

Seen here responding to a “high priority hydration situation,” Paul is making sure the flowers stay standing, one watering can at a time. No lights, no sirens… just pure plant life support.

Reminder for today:
💧 If the flowers need water, you do too
🧊 Don’t wait until you feel overheated—drink water all day
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or AC when you can
🚫 Avoid overdoing it in the peak heat
🐾 Check on neighbors, pets, and anyone who might need a hand (or a water bottle)

🔥 It’s heating up into the upper 80s and 90s, and the humidity is tagging along too—so basically, summer is turning the dial all the way up.
Naturally, we’ve spent some time brainstorming ways to cool down Stockbridge this week:

🚒 Turn the trucks into giant sprinklers
💦 Create a town-wide misting system
🌧️ Make our own rain cloud

Apparently, none of those are approved solutions. So we’ll stick with the next best thing:

💧 Drink plenty of water
☀️ Take it easy during the hottest part of the day
🌳 Find some shade (or some AC!)
🐾 Keep pets cool and hydrated
👫Check in on neighbors, family, and friends

🎓 Graduation Weekend is Here! 🎓

The members of the Stockbridge Fire Department would like to congratulate the Class of 2026 on this exciting milestone.

We would also like to give special recognition to our own member, Riley Albert, on graduating this year. We are proud to have Riley as part of our department and look forward to seeing all that she accomplishes in the future. Good luck as you begin the next chapter at Porter and Chester Institute!

☀️ June sunshine has officially arrived, and FF/EMT Paul Hernandez is making the most of it. Paul is hard at work doing truck checks and making sure everything is ready to go. Rumor has it the awning isn’t for the truck check—it’s for Paul, who wasn’t taking any chances with all this sunshine. If you happen to see him set up in a beach chair under the awning, don’t be fooled—he’s still hard at work. If you do spot him, be sure to give him a wave!

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported today’s Memorial Day parade and events. It was great to see our community come together to honor those who gave so much for our freedom.

From all of us at the Stockbridge Fire Department, we hope everyone has a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Just a reminder that open burning season ends this Friday, May 1st.

With the beautiful weather we’ve been having here in Stockbridge, it’s been great to get outside and enjoy it!

If you’re getting any burning in before then, please use extra caution. The dry conditions and nice weather can make things spread quicker than expected.

Yesterday, the Stockbridge Fire Department assisted the Great Barrington Fire Department at a structure fire.

Stockbridge crews responded through the mutual aid system and operated alongside several neighboring departments on scene.
