In Memoriam: Councilman Frank Cicerale
It is with profound sadness that the Mayor and Council, Township Manager, and the employees of Hardyston Township announce the passing of Councilman Frank Cicerale, a devoted public servant, respected leader, cherished friend, and dedicated family man whose unwavering commitment to Hardyston Township spanned three decades.
Frank began his service on the Hardyston Municipal Utility Authority in 1995 and faithfully served the Authority for more than 30 years, including 14 years as its chairman. His steady leadership helped guide the Utility Authority through numerous important initiatives while ensuring reliable and affordable services for Township residents.
Frank served on the Economic Development Commission from 1996 to 2001, a time of active development and growth for the Township.
Frank was appointed to the Township Council in 2012 filling the vacancy created by the passing of Councilman Ken Kievit. He went on to win election in 2014, 2020 and again in 2023, serving the people of Hardyston as an elected official for 11 years. During his tenure, he proudly served as both Mayor and Deputy Mayor. Whether leading Council meetings, working with residents, or collaborating with fellow elected officials and staff, Frank consistently approached every decision with one guiding principle - doing what was in the best interest of the Township and its residents.
Frank believed that Hardyston should remain a community where families could afford to live, businesses could thrive, and future generations would be proud to call home.
Beyond his public service, Frank was a devoted family man and a loyal friend. He quietly cared for those around him, often extending kindness, support, and encouragement without seeking recognition. His compassion, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on countless people throughout the community.
The legacy of Councilman Frank Cicerale is one that will endure throughout Hardyston Township, in the projects he helped bring to fruition, the policies he helped shape and the fiscal responsibility he championed.
On behalf of the Mayor and Township Council, the Township Manager, and the entire Hardyston Township family, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Frank's beloved family, his many friends, and all who mourn his passing. We share in their grief and offer our prayers for strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.
Councilman Frank Cicerale's legacy will forever remain a part of the history of our community, and his faithful service will never be forgotten.
