The flowers are blooming and the library is buzzing! We have a packed calendar for you this month with everything from community favorites to award-winning stories.

🏛️ Traveling Office Hours: Tomorrow at the Library!
We are pleased to host a special guest tomorrow at the Stockton Township Public Library! Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie is bringing her District Office services directly to our community.

When: Tomorrow, Thursday, April 30th

Time: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Where: Stockton Public Library

Leader McCombie and her staff host these traveling office hours to ensure the state office remains accessible to all constituents across the 89th District.

Such a fun and informative day today at Big Sky’s Valley of Eden Bird Sanctuary! Shawn and Tom did a great job teaching the kids all about our birds, conservation, and how to use our binoculars! If you haven’t been there please stop at the library for maps and more information. This is a Stockton area gem that should be on everyone’s list of places to see! It is the perfect place for kids and grown-up’s alike to learn bird watching and so much more! Thank you to everyone who made it to the program.

🦉 Something to Tweet About: Our Youth Bird Watching Recap!

We’ve had a fly-away success this week at the Stockton Township Public Library! We’ve been busy working with the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation (JDCF) to get our local youth excited about the great outdoors.

Wednesday Recap: Getting Our Ducks in a Row 🦆
We had 17 eager explorers join us to prep for their big adventure! Here’s what we "peeped" at:

Conservation: Kids learned how to protect our feathered friends and identify local birds by their unique songs. 🎶

Storytime: We read a beautiful story about friendship that featured real bird calls!

Gear Up: Every child crafted their very own pair of binoculars to make sure they don't miss a thing this weekend. 🔭

📍 Part 2: The Field Trip! (You’re Invited!) 🦅
Even if you missed Wednesday’s "training," you are still owl-come to join us for the outdoor excursion!

When: This Saturday, April 25th

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Program is approx. 60 mins)

Where: Big Sky Nature Preserve 🌲

Meeting Point: Valley of Eden entrance at 9:00 AM. Look for the JDCF signs! 🪧 Check the attached map for directions to make sure you land in the right spot. 🗺️

Salutations, Stockton!

We have had quite the amazing start to April here at the Stockton Public Library. Our halls have been buzzing with activity, and we love seeing so many of you stopping by!

Here is a recap of this past week’s highlights:

Easter Bunny Success: We welcomed over 60 attendees to our collaborative event featuring photos with the Easter Bunny on Saturday the 4th! It was a wonderful way to kick off the spring season.

Monday Movement: We started the week strong with our ever-popular Stay Sharp Chair Yoga program.

Wednesday Youth Fun: Over 20 kids joined us this Wednesday! The older kids (7+) tackled a puzzle challenge, while our "littles" enjoyed our new Kids Yoga program.
