It is with heavy hearts that the Rotary Club of Stockton shares the passing of our friend and fellow Rotarian, Reverend Dwight Earl Williams.
Dwight was serving on our board as Youth and Vocational Services Chair, a role that fit him perfectly. A devoted Rotarian, he embodied our motto of Service Above Self in everything he did.
Born and raised in Stockton, Dwight was one of the youngest ordained ministers in the Central Valley region, called to service at just 19 years old. He went on to lead New Genesis Outreach Ministries as Senior Pastor and served as President and CEO of New Genesis Housing Development Corporation for more than 15 years, working to strengthen his community through housing, economic development, and outreach. He also was serving as Senior Vice President of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, one of the many roles through which he gave back to the city he loved.
Dwight gave his life to the people of Stockton. He met everyone with humility, warmth, and genuine care, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Please keep his wife, Phyllis Williams, and their family in your thoughts and prayers. Rest well, Dwight. You served faithfully.
