STOCKTON TRAFFIC HEADS-UP

If your route takes you through the San Juan/Harding area today, give yourself a few extra minutes.

Public Works continues intermittent road work involving:
➡️ San Juan Ave. — Shimizu Dr. to W. Rose St.
➡️ W. Harding Way — Carlton Ave. to San Juan Ave.
➡️ Riddle Ct.
➡️ Figueroa St.

Work is generally scheduled between 9 AM and 3 PM, with detours posted when necessary.

Road work can be inconvenient. The payoff is safer, stronger infrastructure, so please SLOW DOWN around crews and follow posted directions.

Thank you for your patience while Stockton gets the work done.

STOCKTON IS BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

This morning, thousands of Stockton students are settling into a new school year, which means all of us need to reset our driving habits too.

Slow down around our schools. Watch the crosswalks. Put the phone down. Give buses room. And expect a few more cars and pedestrians during drop-off and pickup.

To our students: work hard, ask questions, make some new friends and have a great year.

To our teachers, administrators, classified staff, crossing guards, bus drivers and parents: thank you for everything you do to get Stockton’s kids through those doors every morning.
Let’s have a safe and successful school year.

STAY COOL, STOCKTON.

We are looking at serious heat today, and this is one of those days when a few simple precautions matter.

💧 Drink water throughout the day.

👵 Check on older neighbors and family members.

🐕 Keep pets off hot pavement and never leave them in a parked vehicle.

👷 Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.

💦 Take advantage of Stockton’s splash pads and water features.

Our community does heat well when we look out for one another.

Stay hydrated. Stay safe. And check on somebody today.

ICYMI! This is the first round response to the Grand Jury Report and a schedule that was presented earlier this week. The QR code will link citizens directly back to the SJC Grand Jury to report on progress but if you want to have a say in the policy updates, priorities, and revisions to the charter contact my staff directly at [email protected] or download the askstockton app and submit your comment. A new website is weeks away from going live so that you can see in real time how your input will yield rapid accountability, greater transparency, and actions that lead to real consequences.
