🌟 Christmas in July is here, and yes, that is actually a thing.

In 1933, Keystone Camp in Brevard, North Carolina decided their summer campers should not have to wait until December to feel Christmas spirit. They put up a tree, exchanged gifts, and the tradition started spreading. Almost 100 years later, it is officially observed on July 25.

To the members of this association who spend so much of the real Christmas season at work, today is a small reminder that the people who serve our community deserve to feel a little holiday spirit too.

Drop a 🎄 in the comments to wish someone in our profession a Merry Christmas in July. Let's get the spirit going.

Today, two members of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Boating Safety Unit joined hundreds of law enforcement officers from across Northern California at the MADD Awards Ceremony in Roseville, California.

Deputies John Canepa and Philip Hicks were each recognized for recording the highest number of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) arrests in Northern California, with 14 BUI arrests each.

Their dedication to proactive enforcement helps prevent impaired boating, protects families enjoying the San Joaquin Delta, and ultimately saves lives on our waterways.

Please join us in congratulating Deputies Canepa and Hicks on this outstanding achievement and thanking them for their hard work, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to keeping the residents and visitors of San Joaquin County safe.

Deputy James Morgan dedicated his life to serving the San Joaquin County community. After suffering a devastating spinal injury during Mounted Patrol Unit training in 2022, James faced years of chronic pain and medical challenges with extraordinary courage and determination.

Tragically, James passed away on July 2, 2026, from complications following spinal surgery. He leaves behind his wife, Teresa, and children, Cody and Cora.

Please consider donating to help ease the financial burden on James’s family as they navigate this unimaginable loss and preserve the life they worked so hard to build together.

🎆 Happy Fourth of July from this association to your family. 🎆

This year is different. America is celebrating its 250th birthday, and there is no better time to pause and appreciate what this country was built on.

A fun fact for the day: The first organized Independence Day celebration took place in Philadelphia on July 4, 1777, exactly one year after the Declaration was signed. It included a 13-gun salute and the very first Fourth of July fireworks display. The tradition you are about to enjoy tonight is 249 years old.

🔥 Quick safety reminder while you are celebrating:

Light fireworks outdoors, far from people and buildings

Keep a hose or bucket of water nearby

Never relight a dud

Watch the kids around sparklers, which can reach 2,000°F

Comment below with how you are spending the holiday. We would love to see how this community is celebrating.

Happy 87th birthday to the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Established on June 23, 1939, originally as the Coast Guard Reserve before being renamed the Auxiliary in 1941, this volunteer arm of the U.S. Coast Guard has spent nearly nine decades supporting boating safety, search and rescue, environmental protection, and homeland security across America's waterways.

Today, the Auxiliary has roughly 21,000 volunteer members across the country, contributing more than 2 million hours of service every year. They are not paid. They serve because they believe in the mission. That kind of commitment looks familiar to anyone in this association.
Your service matters.

Share this post in honor of the volunteers who keep our waterways safe.

AB 1383 was written for public safety — but legislators need to hear directly from the people it impacts.

Your message is already drafted. Review it. Send it. Done.

This bill would help modernize retirement by strengthening retirement eligibility, improving pensionable compensation limits, and restoring local bargaining options for future negotiations.

Take 30 seconds today and make your voice heard.
Send your letter through the activation portal and help show lawmakers what this means for California’s public safety professionals.

To every father in this association: today is for you.

The fathers in our ranks balance two demanding jobs every single day. The one they wear a uniform for, and the one waiting for them at home. They miss school plays, birthday dinners, and bedtime stories more often than most people realize. They do it because that is the job. And they show up at home anyway because that is the kind of father they choose to be.

There are an estimated 70 million dads in this country. The ones in this profession are a small but exceptional slice of that number.

Today our association honors them, and the families who carry them through.

Comment below with a father in your life who deserves to be recognized today.

Six months into 2026, and we want to thank the community that has stood with us this year.

The work this association does is only possible because of the people who believe in it. Members. Families. Friends of the association. Every single person who supports the mission plays a part in what we are able to do, even when the work is quiet and behind the scenes.

We are not at the finish line. The need does not pause at the halfway mark, and neither do we.

Tag someone who has supported this association in any way this year. They should know it has not gone unnoticed.
